Jon entered the financial services industry through New York Life, where he was a national top performing sales professional for 15 years. In 1994, following through on a dream to provide clients with truly comprehensive and independent financial planning, he founded Independence Wealth Services as a sole practitioner, serving just a handful of clients.

Within months, demand for this new model of service required an expanded staff. The company has since grown to include a second Financial Planner and 2 client service support staff and now serves over 100 financially successful individuals and their families with personalized plans and portfolio monitoring. Within the organization, Jon specializes in client contact, along with wealth management, retirement, and estate planning. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association.

Jon finds great satisfaction in the fact that the Independence Wealth Services business model aligns his best interest with his clients', unlike the commission-based relationship of many financial services firms. He donates considerable resources and time to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Delaware, among other charitable activities, and is an avid motorsports enthusiast.

Dave Duncan, CFA

Before joining Independence Wealth Services, Dave spent a decade conducting research and managing equity portfolios for Rittenhouse Trust (now Haverford Trust) and The Swarthmore Group, managing billions in client assets. He was personally responsible for portfolios worth over $200 million for individual and institutional clients.

An exceptional analyst with extensive knowledge of the financial markets, Dave also finds great satisfaction in building relationships and helping clients set and achieve their larger financial goals.

He is a member of the CFA Institute, and the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts, and the Financial Analysts of Philadelphia.

Judy Boris Czyzewski
Business Development Manager

As the Business Development Manager for Independence Wealth Services, Judy brings over 14 years of experience in the financial services industry. She works with her team to develop and enhance relationships with current and prospective
clients, professional advisors and the community.

Judy is an active volunteer and member in several organizations, some of which
focus particularly on supporting and advancing women in education, business and social outreach. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Widener University and is pursuing her MBA with a Marketing concentration from Wilmington University.

Megan Mooney

Megan Mooney has over ten years’ experience working in the Wealth Management Industry in both New York City and the Delaware Valley.  Her diverse experience working in financial sales and support has given Megan superior relationship management skills and the drive to always put the client’s needs first.  As Client Support Manager for Independence Wealth Services, Megan strives to provide excellence in client servicing and to enhance the experience of our current and prospective clients.
